Photographic experiences of Roberto Mariotti

Reality, beauty, ... and photography

After all, what remains in the end it is only the poignant beauty of reality.

« ... all the images bear written: " farther " ! »
Eugenio Montale - Maestrale

This verse of the Maestrale poetry of Eugenio Montale says everything I look for and that I want to express in photography, in fact in every picture there is like an absence ... the absence of the beauty hidden in the instant that provocated the shot.

Before to be photographers, we must therefore be men; we must know how to look and grasp beauty. The camera captures the image but leaves to the human heart the task of filling the image.

There is something "sacred" in reality that overflows from the simple image, which requires that you are there ... there, at that moment, right at that moment with the eyes wide open to capture the "more", the "beyond".
Therefore I often photograph the common things, everyday, those that we normally touch without realizing it, the things on which, normally, we pose the eye but without looking.

I'm just a photo enthusiast who tries to "capture" the beauty of the moment, conscious of the limits of the tool I use for.
